~ TOUCH THE LIGHTNING ~ LEMON SUN ~

Here is our latest music video, directed by Emily Wilder. DP by Whitney Patterson. Written by Rob Kolar & Nick Rucker. Special thanks to Dana, Rachel, Lauren, & The Clinic.

Here's a little info. about what inspired it...

The song was originally inspired by the brilliant journalist and author, Graham Hancock, and his book Supernatural. The book explores the evolution of human consciousness as well as means for furthering one's consciousness through natural means of meditation or through the use of shamanic practices with ayahuasca and Psilocybin mushrooms. He argues against laws prohibiting someone in America from pursuing these mind expansive practices yet allowing people to dull down their consciousness with substances like alcohol and prescription drugs. Substances which have shown to be more harmful than any of these natural and ancient means of altering ones consciousness or mind. He also explores the human connection with spirits, angels, gods, and other supernatural entities and offers thoughtful and well defined possibilities of their source and means of their existence. We aren't saying you should be ingesting hallucinogenic drugs. That is your choice. But we are open to the idea of connecting with a spiritual world and that's what the phrase "touch the lightning" is meant to represent.

Emily and I chose to reflect this theme in a simple way, using a man and a suitcase. Feel free to interpret the story how you will. Many images and moments are deliberately reflective of our intent. Others happened by own their own accord. The piece contains subtle visual and symbolic moments which may not be evident until watching it a couple times. We'd love to know what comes to mind for you when you see it. Enjoy...

Post Fact Productions Presents... NEW

Experimental Theater group POST FACT Productions has taken their acclaimed two women show, 'NEW', and festooned it with new cast members, dance numbers, live music, elaborate costumes, art, and other mesmerizing surprises for an April two night stand at The Million Dollar Theater in downtown Los Angeles. There is a reason that this classic and gorgeous theater goes by this rather ostentatious name. The building is a marvel in itself. Make sure you tattoo these dates to your soul as there is no going back once you have ventured into the world of 'NEW'. A post-apocalyptic world of surreal ideas and imagery while reflecting the social intricacies of our current world and civilization.

Featuring a cast full of revered local artists and musicians and presented by the Downtown Standard Hotel, these nights are sure to be an 'absolute must attend' experience.

Not to mention they are FREEEEE. So get there early to reserve the best seat in the house.

Pictures of the Decade

Sometimes I forget what has been happening on Earth in the last decade only to then realize how fortunate but also strangely removed I am, being here in Los Angeles, where we (as of yet) do not to have the kinds of terrorist attacks, wars, and strife depicted in many of these photos. Its time we, as a whole, move forward with embracing one another and reflect love and understanding not hatred and ignorance. Of course, its easier said than done. But simple actions can start waves of change.

INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS ~ Magnum Opus

Tarantino does an immaculate job of balancing various genres of film-making and threading them into a mesmerizing and poignant period flick. It plays much like a Western only set in war torn France during the Nazi invasion. His writing is full of wit and intrigue and the performances, for the most part, are terrific. Christopher Waltz shows true genius in his performance combining humor, terror, and cunning vindictiveness. He deserves the academy award nomination, if not, the award itself. A must see film. Full of every element that makes you want to toss back some popcorn and be swept away by cinema. (by Rob Kolar)
